And we hope you enjoy the Sligo website.

Mykidstime Cork has arrived………

Delighted to announce the arrival of our latest Mykidstime website, dedicated to Cork, with our usual good information, articles etc for parents.  Well done to Noelle, our Cork Mykidstimer for all her hard work!

A great family activity!

Well we decided to make the most of yesterdays good weather so we headed off to Malahide Castle to have a go at some orienteering.  This was part of the ‘Fingal Scatter’ organised by Fingal Orienteers.

What a fabulous way to spend some time with the children!  My two just loved it.  They got so into the whole thing, loved running off to find the flags and there was some great excitement if they found it.

We decided to do medium level, which was 14 controls.  It took us just over an hour but a really exciting, and active hour.

We’ll certainly be doing it again, kids really enjoyed it, hubby really enjoyed it and I really enjoyed it…. great way to exercise too, I haven’t ran like that for quite some time!!!

If you get a chance to have a go at a family orienteering course I would highly recommend.

Family fun

School holidays are nearly over so for one last treat I talked my husband into taking a day off work, booked some tickets and off we went.

Got the dart into the city and then onto the Luas from there.  Kids hadn’t been on the Luas before so they really enjoyed the ‘bendy’ train.  Made our way to Imaginosity where we spent two hours playing and having fun.  Imaginosity was a little different to what I expected but a great way for children to use their imaginations and we certainly had no problem filling in the two hours allowed.  They did some artwork, built walls, drove cars, dressed up, watched themselves on tv and much much more, good time had by all.

Then it was time to get the Luas back into the city, we had lunch at McDonalds before heading to our next adventure, the Viking Splash tour, and oh what an adventure!  A great way to learn about the history of Dublin.  A land and water tour by a highly entertaining driver and guide, we absolutely loved it!  My husband and I probably enjoyed it more than the children, being Vikings and roaring at all the Celts along the street………. extremely amusing and informative, highly highly recommend it, RAR!

Then the dart back home and all in bed early, overall a fantastic day out!  A word of advice…… both Imaginosity and the Viking Splash tour should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment!

Off to Croke Park to see the Dubs.

Hi Everybody,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer holidays with the children and finding lots to do.

I haven’t had to do a lot with my children recently to keep them entertained.  In past couple of weeks we have had a weekend in Trim for a family wedding, a Christening last weekend, lots of visits from friends and cousins, we have been kept very busy indeed!

And yesterday we made our way to Croke Park to see Dublin win the Leinster final and oh wow…. what a game!!

It was my boys first time in Croke Park and they so enjoyed it.  Master 6 got really into the match, he plays gaelic football himself so he was taking it all in.  He was even yelling and screaming along with the crowd (and his mother!!) in last few minutes when the excitement really grew.  Master 4 was fascinated by the crowd, the singing and the clapping and he came home singing ‘Come on ye boys in blue….’.

I have some very fond childhood memories of my Dad bringing us to Croke Park regularly as kids so I intend to do the same for mine.

If you can get tickets I would recommend bringing your children.  My boys got to go on the bus, sit amongst 74,573 other people in Croke Park, eat a hotdog and ice-cream and by the time we got home they were exhausted.  A fine result for Dublin too!

Up the Dubs!!!
